Techy Tuesday - Pretty up your Pinterest Boards

This is a new trend I've noticed, and it makes my little OCD heart sing - making the cover photos on your Pinterest boards uniform!  Take a look.

Go from this:

To this:

See how much prettier and neat?

Okay . . .  here's how to do it for yourself.

1.  Create your graphic in PowerPoint.  Cute clip art, backgrounds, borders - make it YOU.

2.  Save your PowerPoint as a jpeg.  To do that, just go to "Save as" in your PowerPoint menu, and choose jpeg as your option.  Of course, you can also choose to save it as a png, but jpeg is just my jam.

3.  Here's where I went wrong.  I put all of the jpegs on my blog as pictures and then pinned them to Pinterest from there.  But since then, I've found a better way.  Go to whatever board you want to change the cover of on Pinterest.  So, if I want to change the cover for my Math board, I would just go to that board.
Do you see that plus sign on the bottom right of the screen?  Just click that.  Then you can follow the directions to directly upload your picture to that board!  Doing this keeps all of your followers from seeing you pin 42 board covers to your Pinterest.

4.  Once you've got all of your covers uploaded as pins onto your boards, you need to go in and change the cover.  Go to your Pinterest boards.  You'll see that under each board, there's an "Edit" button (see them in the image above?)  Click that, and this will pop up.
You want to click "Change" beside the "cover" option here.
Since the last image you uploaded was your new cover, it will be the first pin to pop up.  Select it, and then click "Save Changes."
You'll be taken back to this page.  Click save.

5.  And, just repeat until you've changed the covers to all of your boards!
Isn't that prettier?

I haven't found a way to change the cover of Pinterest boards that you've been invited to collaborate on.  If you started the board and YOU invited others, you can change the cover.  If someone else started the board and THEY invited you, you can't change the cover.

Now, this isn't a hard project . . . but it's not quick.  I'd suggest just curling up with your computer and some good binge watching and just taking your time.  This is also a good time to purge your boards and pins if you need to.

You know.  So you can pin more stuff.
